Sterling Silver Hinged Trinket Box
A hinged round sterling silver trinket box — the kind kept on a dressing table for rings slipped off at night, favorite earrings, a keepsake too small to lose and too meaningful to leave loose. The form is clean and unadorned: a smooth domed lid, a tight-fitting hinge, and a plain cylindrical body that lets the silver speak for itself. Marked EMPIRE STERLING on the underside of the lid — Empire Art Silver of New York being a respected mid-20th century American silversmith.
It comes in its original burgundy velvet presentation case from Jones & Co. Jewelers of Las Cruces, New Mexico, unmarked by any monogram — which means it arrives ready to give. Tuck a note inside, close the lid, and hand it over. The hard part is already done.
CONDITION Excellent; no monogram, no dents, no deformation, and the hinge operates cleanly. Tarnish and light surface oxidation present throughout — polishing will restore full brightness.
