Hand-carved alabaster sculpture by Navajo artist Leslie Pablo, signed “Pablo” and dated '05. The sculpture depicts a Navajo woman wearing traditional attire and shawl with incised geometric decoration and carved fringe details. The figure holds a ceremonial fan and is carved from naturally veined alabaster displaying warm tones of pink, cream, and tan. Mounted on a solid wood swivel plinth for display.
Leslie Pablo, a Navajo sculptor from Lake Valley, New Mexico, is known for hand-carved alabaster figures representing traditional Native American subjects. His work is recognized for its detailed carving and use of natural stone coloration.
