"Green Corn Dance" Woofschlager 1990 Ltd Ed 27/60 — Artist-Printed, Framed
A limited edition mixed media print numbered 27/60, signed and dated 1990 by Woofschlager. "Imp." beside the signature indicates the artist pulled the edition by hand. The image depicts a Corn Maiden in a buckskin dress, arms outstretched mid-dance, holding a corn sprig — a reference to the Green Corn Ceremony, a Native American tradition of renewal and thanksgiving. Blind-embossed corn stalks fill the background, and a real beaded corn ear with dried natural husk is applied to the lower composition as a three-dimensional element.
Presented in an antique-style carved wood frame behind UV glass with a double terracotta and cream mat.
CONDITION Good; colors are strong and embossing is crisp. Several pinholes in the paper surrounding the central figure.
