Description

Kim Rambo Reinmuth — Original Colored Pencil, Blackfeet Girl in Regalia

Original colored pencil portrait of a young Blackfeet girl in traditional powwow regalia, likely observed at North American Indian Days in Browning, Montana. The tight profile composition showcases Reinmuth's photorealistic draftsmanship: individual hair strands, luminous skin tones, and the intricate concentric beadwork of a large rosette earring in blue, white, red, and black are rendered with exceptional precision. A geometric beaded hair clip, layered trade bead necklaces, and a ribbon dress complete the regalia. Signed and copyrighted in pencil lower right. Great Northern Gallery label on verso.

About the Artist:
Kim Marie Rambo Reinmuth (1958–2016) was a self-taught artist raised on a family farm in Gildford, Montana, whose guiding philosophy — "the more detail, the better the drawing" — defined a career of photorealistic precision. She won numerous juried and people's choice awards, was featured in regional and national publications, and received commissions from the Denver Broncos and the Roy Rogers Happy Trails Foundation. Among her most significant professional achievements was being selected to exhibit at the prestigious C.M. Russell Art Show in Great Falls. Her work was exhibited and sold through Great Northern Gallery in Havre, Montana, approximately 100 miles east of the Blackfeet Reservation at Browning. Reinmuth passed away on October 4, 2016, at age 58. Original drawings are considerably scarcer than her prints and represent the full measure of her talent.
