British Colonial Painted Wood Cabinet from India, ca. 1920
Early 20th-century British Colonial painted wood cabinet from India, circa 1920. This solid-wood cupboard features paneled double doors with traces of layered original paint in ochre, rose, and turquoise hues beneath a red-painted cornice. Retaining its hand-forged iron latch and hinges, the piece reflects traditional Anglo-Indian craftsmanship with rustic charm and character.
The cabinet includes one fixed interior shelf (12 1/2" height) and displays interior remnants of earlier blue and gray paint layers, adding to its timeworn authenticity. Compact in scale yet full of presence, this versatile piece offers both historical appeal and functional storage for a modern or vintage-inspired interior.
Condition:
Good, authentically rustic condition with age-appropriate wear throughout. Areas of paint loss, weathering, and minor wood separations consistent with age and use. Iron latch shows oxidation. Structurally sound and stable, retaining its desirable original patina.

Overall: 29 1/2" H x 20" W x 12" D
