Antique Reclaimed Wood Shutter — Iron Hardware, Hecho en México
A commanding antique-style shutter of Mexican origin, constructed from reclaimed wood in a classic two-panel configuration with wide stile-and-rail framing — all fastened with iron nails and reinforced on the reverse by substantial horizontal cross-battens. The wood presents in a deep walnut-brown tone with rich natural grain figuring, knots, and the kind of surface character that only decades of use can produce.
The hardware is a standout detail: a hand-forged iron surface-mount latch with a classic keyhole escutcheon, original to the shutter and intact. Pieces built in this tradition are highly sought by designers and collectors working in Santa Fe, hacienda, or Spanish Colonial interiors — equally compelling mounted as a functional shutter or displayed flat as an architectural wall feature.
