Pendleton Beaver State Robe-Size Serape – Red Wool w/ Green Fringe, 1950s–60s
Vibrant vintage Pendleton “Beaver State” wool serape, woven in Pendleton, Oregon, circa 1950s–60s. This robe-size textile features a bold red field accented with horizontal stripes in green, yellow, black, pink, and cream, finished with hand-twisted green wool fringe on both ends. Retains its original blue-and-gold “Beaver State – Robes and Shawls” label, used between 1930 and 1972. A fine example of Pendleton’s midcentury craftsmanship, celebrated for its vivid color palette and exceptional weaving quality. Ideal for display, use as a decorative throw, or addition to a textile or Americana collection.
Condition
Good vintage condition overall. A ½-inch thread is visible toward the center of the blanket, with one small section of fringe absent. Some small stains noted, as shown in photos. Colors remain vivid, and the piece displays attractively.
Dimensions: 71 x 55 ¾ inches overall; 80 ½ x 65 ½ inches including fringe.
Classification: Robe-size serape (adult size).
