Description

Dixie by Lexington French Provincial 2-Pc Hutch & Chest, Cream & Blue

Elegant vintage Dixie by Lexington French Provincial two-piece hutch and chest combination, circa 1960s–1970s. Maker-marked inside the drawer and stenciled on the reverse. This versatile storage and display unit showcases a painted cream finish with soft blue trim, brass hardware, and traditional French styling with turned spindle supports, cabriole front legs, and a scalloped arched crest.

The lower chest includes three dovetail drawers with original brass handles and a durable laminate top, while the upper hutch features two dovetail drawers and two fixed shelves with approximately 10.5-inch and 9.5-inch clearances—ideal for books, china, or décor. Distinctive of Dixie’s mid-century craftsmanship under the Lexington brand, blending American quality with European charm.

An attractive and functional piece for bedroom, dining, or hallway use, offering classic French Provincial elegance with useful modern storage.

Condition

Good overall vintage condition, showing expected wear from age and use. The chest exhibits light scuffing and minor paint splatter near the rear left foot. The hutch displays water damage to the top, chipped paint along the left side, and staining to the interior shelves. Additional small paint losses and surface marks throughout. Structurally stable, with drawers operating smoothly. Please review all photos for reference to condition.

Dimensions

  • Chest only: 30" H × 30" W × 19" D

  • With hutch attached: 72.75" H overall
