Artist Biography: Paul Lawrence (American, b. 1941)
Paul Lawrence was a photographer and visual artist best known for his striking interpretations of the American West. Based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for much of his life, he brought decades of wilderness experience into his practice, blending technical precision with a deeply personal visual language he described as “Visual Jazz.” His work appeared in Audubon, National Parks, Conservation, Skiing, and Sierra Club publications, and he authored Hiking and the Teton Back Country.
