Frank Zappa Hot Rats 1969 Bizarre LP – RS 6356, 1st Press, VG Vinyl
Original 1969 U.S. first pressing of Hot Rats by Frank Zappa, issued on the blue Bizarre/Reprise label (RS 6356). This highly sought-after release features the distinctive diagonal “BIZARRE” label design with mechanical illustration, and the early Warner Bros.-Seven Arts distribution rim text. The vinyl includes both correct catalog numbers (30,926 / 30,927) and tracks the full six-song set, with Side 1 including “Peaches en Regalia” and the Beefheart-featured “Willie the Pimp.”
A milestone in progressive rock and jazz fusion, Hot Rats was one of the first 16-track recordings and is widely considered Zappa’s most accessible and influential solo work. This pressing includes the original gatefold jacket with the iconic pink-hued cover art by Cal Schenkel, featuring a photo by Andee Nathanson. Collectors prize this edition for both its sonic depth and psychedelic-era design.
