Jackson Browne 1970s Asylum LP Lot — 5 Original Albums, VG/VG+
Offered as one lot: a complete run of Jackson Browne’s landmark 1970s albums on Asylum Records, all original U.S. pressings with the classic blue sky/white cloud label. Includes Jackson Browne (SD-5051, 1972), For Everyman (SD-5067, 1973), Late for the Sky (7E-1017, 1974), The Pretender (7E-1079, 1976), and Running on Empty (6E-113, 1977).
Browne’s 1972 debut, often referred to as Saturate Before Using, introduced the reflective songwriting that would define his career, featuring “Doctor My Eyes” and Rock Me on the Water. For Everyman (1973) expanded his reach with “Take It Easy” and These Days, while Late for the Sky (1974)—hailed as his artistic peak—delivered the deeply personal “Fountain of Sorrow” and For a Dancer. The Pretender (1976) offered a more mature tone with “Here Come Those Tears Again” and the title track, followed by the live-on-the-road concept LP Running on Empty (1977), Browne’s commercial triumph featuring “The Load-Out/Stay” and “Running on Empty.”
Together, these five albums trace Browne’s rise from emerging folk poet to major voice of 1970s American rock—an essential sequence in singer-songwriter history. Each title achieved critical or commercial acclaim, with multiple Gold and Platinum certifications and enduring influence on later generations of artists.
