Simon & Garfunkel LP Lot – Sounds of Silence & Bridge Over Troubled Water

This vintage vinyl LP lot includes two iconic albums by Simon & Garfunkel, both released on Columbia Records with classic red “360 Sound” stereo labels. The lot features Sounds of Silence (CS 9269, 1966) and Bridge Over Troubled Water (KCS 9914, 1970), capturing the evolution of the duo from raw folk stylings to lush, orchestrated pop.

Sounds of Silence includes seminal tracks such as “I Am a Rock,” “Richard Cory,” and the era-defining “The Sound of Silence.” Your copy appears to be an original U.S. stereo pressing with “360 Sound” label text and the printed 1966 back cover with Bob Johnston credit. The cover shows some edge and corner wear, with artwork still legible and striking in black-and-white and color.

Bridge Over Troubled Water was the duo’s final studio album and a commercial triumph, featuring enduring hits like “The Boxer,” “Cecilia,” and the title track. This LP is also a likely early pressing with the bold red Columbia label and includes the original printed inner sleeve.

These albums are not only collector staples but also essential listening, representing two pivotal moments in 1960s–70s American music history.

Condition:

Both records are in good, listener-grade condition. Surfaces show visible scuffs, smudges, and light scratches (see detailed photos). Playback may exhibit surface noise but both discs appear intact without major gouges. Labels are clean and legible. Jackets show moderate to heavy shelf wear with creasing, edge rub, and minor corner rounding, typical of vintage LPs. Sounds of Silence retains its vintage Columbia inner sleeve, while Bridge Over Troubled Water includes the matching original inner. These copies are best suited for casual playing or nostalgic display.

Dimensions:
