Three Outlaw Country LPs – Nelson, Jennings & Russell / RCA & Columbia 1976–79
Offered is a trio of landmark outlaw country LPs by Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Leon Russell, all original U.S. pressings from the late 1970s. Includes One for the Road (Columbia KC2 36064, 1979), Are You Ready for the Country (RCA APL1-1816, 1976), and Waylon & Willie (RCA APL1-2686, 1978). These albums capture a defining era in which Nashville’s rebels reshaped American country music with rock, soul, and honky-tonk influences.
One for the Road pairs Nelson and Russell in a double-LP of American standards such as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Danny Boy,” and “One for My Baby,” reaching #3 on the Country Albums chart and certified Gold. Jennings’ Are You Ready for the Country delivers his outlaw reinterpretation of Neil Young’s classic and the hit “Can’t You See.” The chart-topping Waylon & Willie features enduring favorites “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys” and “The Wurlitzer Prize.” Together they represent the peak of the Outlaw Country movement and its crossover legacy.
Condition
All three LPs are in good to very good playable condition with light surface marks and scuffing consistent with age and prior handling. Labels remain clean and intact. Jackets show moderate shelf and ring wear with some corner and edge rubbing; Waylon & Willie exhibits light creasing. Records would benefit from professional cleaning. Sold as a complete lot for listening or display—an essential set from country’s most influential era.
Dimensions
Each LP: 12-inch vinyl records in standard jackets.
