Description

Simon & Garfunkel & Paul Simon – 3 LP Lot: Bookends (1968 1st Press), Concert in Central Park (1982), Graceland (1986)

A curated trio of original U.S. vinyl LPs charting the artistic evolution of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. This collection includes:

  • Simon & Garfunkel – Bookends (Columbia KCS 9529), confirmed 1968 first pressing with Columbia “two-eye” red 360 Sound Stereo labels and early matrix codes (XSM 118887 / XSM 118888). Includes era-defining tracks “Mrs. Robinson,” “America,” and “A Hazy Shade of Winter.”

  • Simon & Garfunkel – The Concert in Central Park (Warner Bros. 2BSK 3654), 1982 first U.S. issue, cream WB labels with Burbank address and matching Warner logo inner sleeves. Recorded before over 500,000 fans in Central Park—one of the most iconic live concerts of all time.

  • Paul Simon – Graceland (Warner Bros. 1-25447), 1986 original pressing with cream WB shield labels and lyric inner sleeve, partial shrink wrap still present. The landmark Grammy-winning album that brought world music to global audiences, featuring “You Can Call Me Al” and “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes.”

Each pressing reflects key phases in Simon & Garfunkel’s and Paul Simon’s legacy—an ideal collector’s grouping representing three decades of essential recordings.

Condition:

Overall in Good to Very Good (VG to VG+) condition. All records show moderate surface marks and light scuffs, as visible in supplemental reference photos—consistent with careful use and storage. No deep gouges noted. Bookends exhibits the heaviest sleeve rub, while Central Park and Graceland retain brighter surfaces. Jackets are structurally sound with minor edge wear; Graceland remains partially in shrink wrap. Original inner sleeves included where applicable. Playback not tested but expected to perform well after cleaning.

Dimensions:

Standard 12-inch LP records (approx. 12 x 12 inches each).

Collector Notes:

All three are authentic U.S. first pressings, identifiable by label design and matrix etchings:

  • Bookends — Columbia “two-eye” 360 Sound Stereo (1968)
  • The Concert in Central Park — Warner Bros. cream WB Shield (1982)
  • Graceland — Warner Bros. cream label with barcode (1986)

These early issues offer historically accurate mixes and mastering, particularly prized by collectors and audiophiles.
