Bob Dylan – The Times They Are A-Changin’ Mono LP Columbia CL 2105 (1964)
Original 1964 U.S. mono first pressing of The Times They Are A-Changin’ by Bob Dylan (Columbia Records, CL 2105). Pressed on Columbia’s red “GUARANTEED HIGH FIDELITY” label with “NONBREAKABLE” designation and matrices XLP-75526 / XLP-75527. Produced by Tom Wilson, this album marked Dylan’s first collection of entirely original compositions—an iconic statement of protest and poetic conviction in early 1960s American folk music.
Featuring seminal tracks such as “The Times They Are A-Changin’,” “Ballad of Hollis Brown,” “With God on Our Side,” and “The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll,” the album captures Dylan at his most stark and socially conscious. The back cover includes the “11 Outlined Epitaphs” poem and the Barry Feinstein portrait, both hallmarks of first-issue pressings. A cornerstone title in any serious Dylan or folk collection.
Condition
Vinyl is in very good condition, showing light scuffs and sleeve marks under bright light, but playback remains strong with minimal surface noise. Labels are clean and vivid with no spindle wear. Jacket exhibits moderate ring wear, light foxing, and minor corner rubbing, consistent with age; spine text remains legible. No seam splits or writing. A solid, well-cared-for example of an early 1964 Columbia mono pressing.
