Mimbres-Style Pottery Bowl by DV — Hand-Coiled, 2012, Goat Motif, w/ Stand
Mimbres-style pottery bowl signed “DV” and dated ’12, hand-coiled and painted in the Southwest tradition. Featuring a central black goat motif rendered in bold, geometric lines, the design pays homage to ancient Mimbres iconography known for its stylized animal forms and balanced composition.
Crafted from white clay with a subtle matte finish, this bowl shows fine hand-built qualities, including slight tonal variation and surface texture. A dark painted rim frames the minimal interior, while the underside bears the artist’s initials and date. It includes a custom iron stand for elegant upright display.
An eye-catching piece of contemporary Southwestern pottery rooted in historical visual language.
Condition
In good condition with light shelf wear and scattered scuffing, particularly on the base. No chips or cracks observed. The painted surface remains clean and well-defined. Please review photos for details.
