Description

Antique Brass Apple Butter Kettle — Riveted Iron Handle, c.19th Century

This antique apple butter kettle features brass over iron construction with classic riveted iron swing handles. Likely dating to the 19th century, this utilitarian piece was traditionally used for slow-cooking apple butter or rendering over open flame. The kettle has a wide basin, rolled rim, and sturdy forged handle marked “10,” indicative of its original capacity.

Its timeworn surface and golden patina reflect years of honest use, offering an authentic rustic presence. Whether displayed in a farmhouse kitchen or used as a decorative hearth accent, this kettle brings strong visual character and historical charm.

Condition:
In good antique condition with expected wear from age and use. Notable denting and a metal split are present along the rim, and the base does not sit entirely flat. Surface oxidation, patina, and interior discoloration are consistent with its age. Please review photos for detail.
