Ansel Adams Authorized Editions – 3 Vols., 1977–2012, Little, Brown

A distinguished trio of authorized Ansel Adams photography volumes published by Little, Brown and Company, the exclusive publisher designated by the Ansel Adams Publishing Rights Trust to uphold the artist’s exacting standards of print fidelity. This collection includes:

  • The Portfolios of Ansel Adams (1977, first printing), New York Graphic Society / Little, Brown and Company, introduction by John Szarkowski. A landmark folio reproducing Adams’ seven limited photographic portfolios (1936–1976) across 90 plates, with a preface by the artist. Includes a 1978 presentation inscription on the half-title page.

  • Sierra Nevada: The John Muir Trail (2006, first Little, Brown edition), introduction by William A. Turnage. A meticulously produced reissue of Adams’ 1938 masterwork—originally published in an edition of only 500 copies—featuring 50 of Adams’ early Sierra Nevada images printed in rich tritone.

  • Looking at Ansel Adams: The Photographs and the Man by Andrea G. Stillman (2012, first edition). A biographical and interpretive study exploring the stories behind twenty of Adams’ most iconic images, interwoven with correspondence, personal reflections, and historical context.
