Sterling Silver Sugar Tongs Lot — RW&S Ornate & Raimond Shell, 21.48g
A fine pair of sterling silver sugar tongs representing two distinct eras of American silversmithing. The ornate floral example, marked RW&S Sterling (R. Wallace & Sons), features richly detailed Art Nouveau design with claw-form grips and a script “C” monogram—a testament to late 19th–early 20th century craftsmanship. The second pair, marked Raimond Sterling, reflects elegant mid-century styling with twisted arms and shell-form ends, made by the Raimond Silver Manufacturing Co. of Chicago, circa 1960s–1970s.
Both are crafted in solid sterling silver, combining a century of artistry and refinement. A collectible duo ideal for tea service or display, showcasing the beauty and versatility of true American sterling.
Condition:
Good overall, with light surface wear and age-appropriate tarnish. RW&S tongs are monogrammed “C.” Both pieces retain their original patina; we’ll leave the polishing to you.
