About The Hickory Chair Co.

Founded in Hickory, North Carolina, in 1911, Hickory Chair Company emerged as one of the preeminent American furniture manufacturers of the 20th century, renowned for blending hand craftsmanship with refined traditional design. By the mid-century period, the firm had developed an international reputation for producing heirloom-quality reproductions of 18th-century English and American forms, especially those inspired by Hepplewhite, Sheraton, and Federal styles.

This sideboard reflects that design lineage: a faithful yet modernized interpretation of Federal-period elegance, executed with the precise veneers, string inlay, and balance of form that defined Hickory Chair’s best work. Each piece was crafted in the company’s Hickory, NC workshops, where production emphasized bench-built construction and long-lasting joinery, maintaining standards that positioned Hickory Chair among America’s leading luxury furniture makers.
