This tall 5-drawer chest from the Devonshire Collection by Pilling Furniture (Sacramento, CA) is a beautifully detailed example of traditional craftsmanship with a custom twist. Finished in a soft French crème tone and topped with a ¾-inch solid wood slab, the piece features refined molding, bracket feet, and standout raised floral appliqué accents along the drawer fronts and upper corner.
Constructed from wood with dovetail joinery on all five drawers, the chest includes its original maker’s plaque inside the third drawer and a quality control tag from SCT Ltd. Brass-tone drawer pulls and smoothly gliding drawers enhance its functional appeal. A bold, romantic take on a classic form—perfect for vintage, cottage, or French country interiors.
Condition:
In good, sturdy condition, with visible signs of refinishing and some residue in applied detail areas. Notable paint drips and buildup are present, especially within the raised appliqué zones and molding edges. One floral corner has a minor chip. The top surface shows light wear.
