Description

Pair Frederick Cooper Brass Bouillotte Lamps w/ Adjustable Black Shades

Elegant pair of Frederick Cooper bouillotte-style table lamps, crafted in polished solid brass with four candle-form arms and dual bulb sockets operated by individual pull-chain switches. Each lamp features an adjustable black tole metal shade with brass trim and ring finial, designed to raise or lower for optimal lighting. The design is inspired by 18th-century French bouillotte lamps, reinterpreted here in mid-20th-century form by Frederick Cooper of Chicago — a firm celebrated for its fine craftsmanship and neoclassical influence.

A sophisticated and weighty pair ideal for refined interiors, these lamps exemplify Cooper’s blend of artistry and functionality. Fully functional, tested, and ready for use. Perfect for desks, buffets, or end tables in traditional, Empire Revival, or Hollywood Regency settings.

Condition

In good overall condition, showing light surface wear consistent with age and use. Brass surfaces retain a warm, even tone with minor handling marks. One shade displays a small dent and paint mark (see detail photos). Electrically tested and fully functional; both pull switches operate independently.
