Description

Hot Wheels 30th Anniv Replica Set of 4 – Large Charge, Sting Ray, Auburn, Woodie

Offered is a set of four Hot Wheels “Authentic Commemorative Replica” cars, released by Mattel in 1997 to celebrate 30 years of Hot Wheels innovation (1968–1998). Each die-cast car recreates a fan-favorite model from its original release year, complete with period-correct card artwork housed inside a blue display window box.

This set includes:

  • 1975 Large Charge – Flying Colors (designed by Larry Wood; green with yellow lightning graphics, “circuit board” roof motif)

  • 1976 Corvette Sting Ray – Flying Colors (red C3 model with original 1976 artwork)

  • 1979 Auburn 852 – Oldies But Goodies (red vintage roadster with “OB&G” patch art)

  • 1980 ’40s Woodie – Hi-Rakers Series (orange and wood-paneled body, classic 1980 art)

Each box bears the official UPC 0 74299 18839 8 and side-panel stock numbers (18865, 18868, 18869) as part of Mattel’s 30th Anniversary Authentic Commemorative Replica Collection, a line of 30 models spanning 1968–1997. Manufactured in China or Malaysia, these were never sold as playsets—only as collectible reissues celebrating classic Hot Wheels artistry.

A perfect showcase of Hot Wheels’ design heritage, this grouping highlights the vivid graphics, nostalgic branding, and craftsmanship that defined Mattel’s late-20th-century collector releases.

Condition:

New and sealed overall. Packaging retains excellent color and gloss across all four boxes. Please note: the 1975 Large Charge car’s plastic display box is damaged, and the car has shifted out of place inside. The remaining three cars are securely positioned, with clean blisters and intact cards.

Size:

Set of four (4) individually boxed cars in 1:64 scale. Each card measures approximately 6.5 x 5 inches.
