Description

1940s Starcraft Art Deco Walnut Display Cabinet with Etched Glass & Upholstered Back

A 1940s Starcraft Furniture Co. Art Deco walnut bowfront display cabinet featuring two curved glass panel doors and matching side panels. The interior includes two glass display shelves, a mirrored back section, and an upholstered damask center panel in a floral pattern. The case is constructed in figured walnut veneer, raised on cabriole legs, with brass hardware and etched mirrored decoration typical of Starcraft’s refined mid-century English craftsmanship.

This cabinet exemplifies the transitional design sensibility of Starcraft’s production during the 1930s–1940s—merging Deco symmetry with Queen Anne revival curves. Its illuminated presentation and elegant proportions make it ideal for showcasing collectibles, glassware, or fine china.

Condition

Good overall condition, fully functional and sturdy. Exhibits expected age-related wear, including finish loss, scattered paint overspray, and minor marks to the veneer. Upholstery and interior surfaces show appropriate wear from age. One glass shelf has a 1" chip at one end, not visible when installed and not affecting use. Glass panels intact. Structurally sound and visually appealing.
