Description

Sherry Gara “Colorful Rooster” Pastel on Paper – Signed, Framed 23.5" x 29.5"

Vibrant original pastel on paper by Sherry Gara (1938–2025), depicting a boldly stylized rooster rendered in expressive strokes of red, yellow, green, and violet. Gara’s confident handling of pastel and luminous palette capture her signature fusion of whimsy and emotional color. Signed lower right, “Sherry Gara.” Presented in a professional double mat (yellow and purple) behind plexiglass glazing, and housed in a coordinating purple frame.

This work reflects Gara’s hallmark style—an energetic balance of abstraction and figurative charm—making it a lively addition to any contemporary or regional art collection.

Condition

Fair condition overall. The artwork remains vivid and well-preserved, though debris is visible behind the plexiglass, and the artwork is loose within the frame and would benefit from professional resetting. The frame and mat show light surface wear consistent with age and handling.

Dimensions

  • Overall: 23.5" x 29.5"
