Description

Gorham Sterling Silver “Celeste” Pattern 1336 Salt & Pepper Shakers — Maker Marked, Pair

Offered is a vintage pair of Gorham Sterling silver salt and pepper shakers, pattern 1336, in the elegant “Celeste” design. Introduced by Gorham around 1956, the Celeste pattern reflects the clean, modernist style of mid-century American silverwork, featuring smooth, tapered forms with pierced star-and-scroll decoration on the domed tops. Each shaker is maker marked “Gorham Sterling 1336” on the underside, confirming authenticity.

Gorham, founded in 1831 in Providence, Rhode Island, is one of America’s most respected silversmiths, celebrated for its craftsmanship and refined aesthetic. These shakers are crafted of solid sterling silver, with a combined weight (without plugs) of 71.81 grams, and exhibit the elegant simplicity typical of Gorham’s postwar designs—ideal for collectors or as timeless table accents.
