Carla Nampeyo Hopi Pottery Tile — Kachina Figure, 5"
Handcrafted Hopi pottery tile signed Carla Nampeyo, featuring a stylized Kachina figure rendered in earthy red, cream, and black slip tones. The circular tile shows refined carving and detailed painting typical of Hopi-Tewa artistry. Carla Nampeyo (b. 1961) is a distinguished fourth-generation potter from the renowned Nampeyo family of Hano. The daughter of Thomas Polacca and granddaughter of Fannie Nampeyo, she continues the legacy of her great-grandmother, Nampeyo of Hano, the artist credited with reviving traditional Sikyatki pottery designs in the early 20th century.
Her work reflects both deep cultural continuity and contemporary refinement, combining ancestral Hopi symbolism with modern technique. Signed CARLA NAMPEYO on the underside. A beautiful and collectible piece of living Hopi tradition—ideal for display or inclusion in a Native American art collection.
