A. Tafoya Jemez Pueblo Hand-Coiled Seed Pot — 6" Polychrome Geometric Design
Signed A. Tafoya, Jemez Pueblo, NM, this elegant hand-coiled seed pot was created by a member of the renowned Tafoya family of Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico. Tafoya is known for her finely balanced forms and masterful use of traditional Pueblo methods — coil-built by hand, stone-polished, and naturally fired.
This 6-inch pot features a smooth, burnished red lower body with a contrasting matte-painted upper section, decorated in intricate geometric and scroll motifs rendered in natural clay tones of buff, sienna, and black. The work embodies the characteristic harmony and refinement of Jemez Pueblo ceramics, uniting heritage craftsmanship with a modern sensibility.
A collectible and visually striking example of Southwest Native pottery, representing the continuing legacy of the Tafoya potters of Jemez Pueblo.
