Antique Child’s Dome-Top Trunk, Pressed-Tin Floral, c. 1880–1900
Charming late-19th-century child’s dome-top trunk with wood construction, pressed-tin floral panels in red and gilt tones, and black-painted steel strapping. The compact, arched form is classic Victorian, reinforced with corner hardware and wooden slats. Inside is the original paper lining including a colorful chromolithograph of hunting dogs—an appealing period detail. Likely American, c. 1880–1900, this small trunk is ideal for decorative storage on a chest, shelf, or entry table and a lovely accent for cottage, cabin, or vintage interiors.
Condition
Good, with age-appropriate wear. Scuffs, oxidation, losses, and minor bends to the tin and metal bands; wood slats with marks; interior paper lining is worn with peeling, tears, and stains; no lock/key. Lid operates properly; structure sound. Please review photos.
Dimensions
11 3/4 x 16 x 9 3/4 inches (H x W x D).
