Rustic Kiva-Style Wood Ladder w/ Sinew Lashings – 84"
This rustic wooden ladder is crafted from solid roundwood and secured with traditional sinew lashings at each rung, reflecting a classic Pueblo or kiva-style form. The construction features hand-assembled joints, irregular uprights, and visible tool marks, emphasizing its handmade character. The surface shows an aged, naturally weathered finish with remnants of earlier coloration, giving the piece strong folk art and primitive appeal.
Originally utilitarian in nature, ladders of this style are now widely appreciated as decorative objects and are especially popular as blanket or textile ladders, sculptural wall accents, or retail display pieces. Its tall, narrow proportions and honest materials make it a striking addition to rustic, Southwestern, farmhouse, or eclectic interiors. A Bob Ross figure (6'2") is shown in photos for scale reference.
Condition:
In good condition overall, with natural splits to the wood, surface wear, and finish loss consistent with age and construction method. The sinew lashings remain intact, and no major structural breaks are observed. Wear and imperfections contribute to the ladder’s visual character.
Dimensions:
84 x 18 inches
