Najaco Lupita Original Signed Mexican Ceramic Figure
Hand-painted Mexican ceramic figure titled Lupita Original, produced by NAJACO in Tonalá, Jalisco, Mexico (est. 1992). This decorative folk art sculpture depicts a traditional seated woman holding a bowl, rendered in vibrant colors with strong attention to facial detail, traditional attire, and chair-form construction. The apron features a painted rural scene and is signed “Carlos” within the artwork.
The original Najaco tag identifies the piece as made from barro cerámico, lead-free, and 90% handmade, with model number 23 noted on the label. Examples with intact Najaco labeling are increasingly difficult to find and add desirable authenticity. A strong representative example of Tonalá ceramic tradition, suitable for collectors of Mexican folk art or as a distinctive display piece.
Condition
Excellent condition with no damage. No chips, cracks, or repairs observed. Hand-painted surfaces are clean and intact. Original Najaco labels show minor handling wear only.
