Vintage Chicago Stockyards Cast Iron Pig Bank, 9 in, Flathead Screws
Vintage Cast-iron piggy bank faintly marked “Chicago Stockyards,” likely a mid-20th-century souvenir. Classic two-part sand-cast construction with central seam, coin slot along the back, and flathead screws at the sides. Nicely modeled jowls and folds give it a lifelike, seated stance, and the uniform black finish (appears to be an old repaint) gives strong shelf presence. A charming piece of Americana for kitchen, office, or farmhouse décor—and a collectible nod to the historic Union Stock Yards.
Condition:
Good overall with light rubbing and tiny casting pits from manufacture. Finish appears repainted with scattered touch-ups; screws show mild oxidation. Tight fit at the seam; no remarkable damage or cracks observed. See photos.
