Rowe Pottery “Fresh Popcorn” Hand-Thrown Stoneware Bowl — 9"
A movie-night classic with folk-art charm. Hand-thrown and hand-painted in Cambridge, Wisconsin by Rowe Pottery Works, this salt-glazed stoneware bowl sports lively cobalt script—“FRESH POPCORN”—and a flying-kernels corn motif. The reverse shows the impressed ROWE POTTERY WORKS / Cambridge, WI oval mark, a small potter’s stamp, and a cobalt flourish. Educational tidbit: that soft, pebbly surface comes from traditional salt glazing, where sodium vapor fuses with the clay to form a thin glassy sheen—tough enough for everyday use and beloved by American folk-pottery collectors.
Condition
Excellent with no damage noted; no chips, cracks, or repairs. Decoration is crisp; interior glaze clean. See photos.
