Dansk Teak Breakfast Tray Tables Pair – Detachable Bases, Danish Modern

This matched pair of Danish Modern breakfast tray tables was produced by Dansk International Designs Ltd., each marked on the underside “Dansk International Designs Ltd – Malaysia – IHQ.” These marks are consistent with late 20th-century Dansk production (circa 1970s–1980s), when the company continued its Scandinavian modern design tradition using solid teak and export manufacturing.

Each table consists of a solid teak serving tray and a separate, non-folding teak leg base. As clearly shown in the images, the trays lift completely off the bases and are not hinged or collapsible. The trays may be used independently for serving, while the bases function as dedicated stands when assembled. This detachable construction allows the pieces to store flat when separated and offers flexible everyday use.

The trays feature softly rounded corners, raised edges, and integrated handholds, while the sculpted bases display clean, architectural lines typical of Danish modern design. Although no designer is marked, the form aligns with the design language associated with Dansk’s Jens Harald Quistgaard era.

A versatile and collectible Dansk set, well suited for breakfast service, laptop use, or as low accent tables, and an appealing addition to Danish modern or mid-century interiors.

Condition

In good vintage condition. Both trays and bases are sturdy with no damage noted. Signs of normal use are present, including light surface wear consistent with age.
