Mid-Century Dansk IHQ Teak Inlaid End-Grain Carving/Serving Board
Meet the multitasker of mid-century kitchens. This Dansk International Designs Ltd. IHQ Thailand board pairs a sculpted teak tray with a dramatic inlaid end-grain work surface—the checkerboard you see is the cut ends of the wood, prized for durability and kinder treatment of knife edges. Designed in the spirit of Jens Quistgaard’s Scandinavian modern classics, the softly rounded rim forms a shallow moat, perfect for catching juices when carving or framing cheeses when entertaining.
Educational bonus: the “Thailand” maker’s mark signals later production (likely 1970s–1980s) of Quistgaard’s long-running teak line—same Dansk design DNA, just a different workshop. Beautiful to display, practical to use, and guaranteed to get compliments when the charcuterie comes out.
Condition
Good overall with signs of use: scattered knife marks and light surface wear consistent with regular kitchen duty. Joints remain tight; surface feels smooth with no cracks or separations noted. See photos for close-ups.
