25" Talavera Puebla Tibor—Hand-Painted Floral Lidded Jar
A fiesta of color with history baked in. This large Talavera tibor (lidded urn) from Puebla is hand-painted in fearless florals—fan blossoms, daisies, and leafy scrolls—outlined in cobalt and finished with glossy tin glaze. The domed lid sports a pointed finial; black bands frame the shoulder and foot. Base impressed HECHO EN MEXICO TALAVERA with penned marks (see photos). A statement-scale accent for entry, console, or hearth—and a textbook example of the Puebla tradition blending Spanish, Moorish, and Indigenous techniques.
Condition
Excellent, with no remarkable damage observed. Minor rub to base ring only; please review photos.
