Rococo Revival Carved Giltwood Mirror, c.1890–1910
A charming Rococo Revival wall mirror in carved wood with a soft gilt finish. The shaped rectangular frame embraces an oval plate and is dressed with pierced corner cartouches of shells and acanthus, petite side bosses, and a bead-and-reel sight edge—details consistent with late 19th–early 20th century Continental (likely Italian or French) work. The warm, time-toned gilding catches the light beautifully, making this an elegant accent over a mantel, in a foyer, or layered into a gallery wall. Hangs vertically and presents with graceful, historic character.
Condition
Good overall with a normal distressed look: scattered rubs to high points and minor age lines to the gilded surface; no remarkable damage noted. Mirror presents cleanly and remains ready to hang. Please review photos.
