7.5" Mexican "Day of the Dead" Ofrenda Shadow Box, Hand-Painted Wood
Hand-crafted wood ofrenda nicho depicting a Día de los Muertos altar. The scene shows calaca figures before a tiered shrine with printed images of the Virgin of Guadalupe and the Immaculate Conception, a sequin cross, papel-picado–style orange screen, marigold sprays, and miniature offerings (pan de muerto, fruits, and a bottle). Interior in deep purple with glitter garlands; bright red border with white brushwork. Likely late 20th–early 21st century. Painted wood with applied clay/paper elements behind a clear front (appears to be glass or acetate). A charming, display-ready piece of Mexican folk art.
Condition:
Fair overall; colors remain vibrant. Imperfection to the top-left corner, with minor surface scuffs and small glue specks from handmade construction. Still presents nicely; see photos.
Dimensions (inches):
3 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 2 1/2. Soup can shown for scale.
