Sessions Westminster Chime Mantel Clock – USA, Tested
This vintage Sessions Westminster chime mantel clock is a classic example of early-to-mid 20th century American clockmaking. Maker marked “Sessions” on the dial and made in the U.S.A., the clock features a traditional arched wooden case with a rich dark finish, brass-tone trim, and a cream dial with stylized Arabic numerals and decorative black hands. The dial is further marked “Westminster Chime,” indicating the familiar quarter-hour chime pattern derived from the Westminster Quarters tradition.
Sessions Clock Company, based in Forestville, Connecticut, was a major American manufacturer from the early 1900s through the mid-20th century and is well regarded for producing reliable, well-designed mantel clocks for both domestic and office use. This example retains its original electric movement and has been fully tested, operating as intended. An attractive and functional piece with solid decorative appeal, suitable for a mantel, shelf, or collector’s display.
Condition
In good condition overall and fully functional, having been tested. The wood case shows visible scuffs and scratches consistent with age and use, with no remarkable damage. Brass elements show some toning. The dial remains clear and legible, and the glass is intact.
Dimensions
Overall dimensions: 6 x 19 x 4 inches (Height x Width x Depth).
