1910 British Trade Dollar – Silver, Britannia, Asian Trade Issue
1910 British Trade Dollar, struck in silver for circulation in Asian trade markets during the late British Empire period. The obverse features Britannia standing left, holding a trident and shield bearing the Union Jack, with a merchant ship in the background—an explicit statement of British naval power and commercial reach. The date appears below, framed by a Greek key border. The reverse displays ornate scrollwork surrounding Chinese characters and additional script, reflecting the coin’s intended acceptance in East Asian commerce.
