1966 New Hebrides 100 Francs – Silver
This coin was issued in 1966 by the New Hebrides as a 100 Francs silver piece intended for circulation. The obverse displays a left-facing bust of Marianne wearing a Phrygian cap, with hair flowing behind the neck, surrounded by the legend “REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE.” A small cornucopia privy mark of the Paris Mint is visible to the right of the portrait. The design is enclosed by a continuous stylized laurel border near the rim.
The reverse features a vertical fasces surmounted by a Phrygian cap at center. The inscription “NOUVELLES HÉBRIDES” appears around the upper periphery, with the denomination “100 f” below the central device. The reverse is similarly framed by a stylized laurel border. The coin is housed in a clear encapsulated holder.
