1980 Turks & Caicos 20 Crowns – Mountbatten Memorial – .500 Silver
This listing features a 1980 Turks and Caicos Islands 20 Crowns silver commemorative coin issued in memory of Lord Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma (1900–1979). The obverse displays the Arnold Machin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, surrounded by the legend “ELIZABETH II · TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS,” with the date below. The reverse depicts a bust of Mountbatten with his name above, life dates to either side, and the denomination “20 CROWNS” below, flanked by anchor symbols. This non-circulating issue was struck by the Royal Mint for the collector market and reflects Commonwealth commemorative coinage of the period.
