1901-O Morgan Silver Dollar
This coin is a 1901 United States One Dollar struck in silver for circulation at the New Orleans Mint, as indicated by the presence of an “O” mint mark on the reverse.
The obverse displays a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap decorated with wheat and cotton, with LIBERTY inscribed on the headband. The legend E PLURIBUS UNUM appears along the upper periphery. Thirteen six-pointed stars encircle the portrait, with the date 1901 positioned below.
The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with wings outstretched, clutching an olive branch and a bundle of arrows. A laurel wreath surrounds the lower portion of the design, enclosing the denomination ONE DOLLAR. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA arcs around the periphery, with In God We Trust above the eagle.
