1921-D United States One Dollar – Silver, Morgan Type
921-D United States one dollar, struck in silver at the Denver Mint for general circulation during the final year of the Morgan dollar series.
The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap decorated with wheat and cotton, with the legend E PLURIBUS UNUM above. Thirteen stars encircle the border, with the date 1921 below the truncation.
The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with wings outstretched, clutching an olive branch and a bundle of arrows. The motto In God We Trust appears above the eagle’s head. Surrounding legends read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE DOLLAR. A “D” mint mark is present above the DO in DOLLAR and below the wreath bow, identifying the Denver Mint issue.
Morgan dollars dated 1921 were produced in substantial quantities to resume silver dollar coinage following its suspension after 1904. This year represents the final use of George T. Morgan’s long-standing design, which was replaced later in 1921 by the Peace dollar.

Condition
Circulated, with even wear evident on the highest points of Liberty’s hair and the eagle’s breast. Numerous small contact marks and scattered dark spots are present on both sides, consistent with circulation. The rims show minor abrasions but remain intact.
