Bally’s Las Vegas Ten Dollar Gaming Token – .999 Silver, Encapsulated
This undated ten dollar gaming token was issued by Bally’s Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada, for use in casino gaming. The piece is a bimetallic Silver Strike–style issue, consisting of a .999 fine silver center encased within a brass-colored outer ring, as stated on the token.
One side displays the inscription “BALLY’S LAS VEGAS” above a large stylized “777” motif, with an inset panel reading “BALLY’S.” Beneath the central design appears the word “NEVADA,” followed by a small copyright symbol. The surrounding ring is inscribed “LIMITED EDITION TEN DOLLAR GAMING TOKEN” at the top and “.999 FINE SILVER” at the bottom, separated by small circular markers.
The opposite side features a streamlined architectural or monorail-style motif associated with the Bally’s Las Vegas property, with “BALLY’S” incorporated into the design. Below, the legend “BALLY’S LAS VEGAS” is repeated. The outer ring again bears the inscription “LIMITED EDITION TEN DOLLAR GAMING TOKEN,” with a series of five-pointed stars along the lower perimeter. No mint mark is visible on either side of the token.
These Bally’s ten dollar Silver Strike–type gaming tokens were originally intended for limited casino use and promotional distribution and are now collected primarily for their silver content and casino-themed designs. The example offered is housed in a protective capsule.
