Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver Pendant with Natural Turquoise & Handcrafted Leaf Motif
This striking vintage Navajo pendant features a large natural turquoise cabochon set in acid-tested sterling silver. The stone displays a distinctive blue-green hue with a silvery-gray, quartz-rich matrix — characteristics consistent with turquoise sourced from the Kingman/Mineral Park district of Arizona.
Expertly hand-fabricated, the pendant showcases hallmark mid-20th century Navajo silversmithing. A heavy, hand-cut bezel holds the stone securely, bordered by thick, hand-twisted wire and accented with two individually crafted and stamped silver leaves.
Unmarked, as is typical for Navajo jewelry from the 1940s–1960s, this pendant exhibits the design balance, natural asymmetry, and organic form celebrated in traditional Southwest Native artistry.
Condition:
Good vintage condition. The turquoise is securely set with no cracks or chips. The sterling silver retains its original patina, with polishing intentionally left to the buyer’s discretion. The backplate shows minor oxidation and a small area of label residue. No repairs or structural issues noted.
