This vintage Zuni cuff bracelet showcases the masterful stone-to-stone inlay work that defines the tradition of Zuni silversmithing. The focal point is a stylized bird in flight, set into a mother of pearl ground and rendered in turquoise, coral, abalone, and jet—materials long revered for their cultural and symbolic significance.
Framed by a band of meticulously strung heishi shell, the central inlay is mounted on a hand-wrought sterling silver cuff formed from three shanks. One shank features hand-stamped geometric motifs, the center is twisted wire, and the third displays cleanly chiseled details—each element reflecting the artist’s dedication to form and harmony.
Signed “AB” on the reverse, this piece is attributed to a Zuni lapidary artist active in the 1970s, whose hallmark appears on similar documented works.
