Steiff 2007 Danbury Mint Year Bear – Mohair, Poseable, Tags, Exclusive
This Steiff 2007 Danbury Mint MBI Year Bear (EAN 669521) was created exclusively for the Danbury Mint as part of their collector-only annual mohair bear series. Made in Germany, it features distinctive curly brown mohair composed of 70% wool and 30% cotton—typical of mid-2000s Steiff craftsmanship. The bear is poseable with classic 5-way jointing, glass-look eyes, and a hand-stitched nose. It wears its original mint-green satin ribbon and the 2007 bronze-finish commemorative medallion, showing a Steiff bear holding a “Button in Ear” flag.
All original tags are affixed, including the yellow Steiff ear tag and signature Knopf im Ohr button, plus the Danbury Mint information booklet. As part of a subscription-only series, the 2007 bear is a charming and collectible example—highly appealing and wonderfully giftable.

About Steiff
Founded in 1880 by Margarete Steiff, the German company Steiff is widely regarded as the world’s premier maker of high-quality plush animals. Steiff revolutionized the toy industry in 1902 with the creation of the first jointed teddy bear, a design that helped ignite the global teddy bear phenomenon. To ensure authenticity, Steiff introduced its trademark “Knopf im Ohr” (“Button in Ear”) in 1904—a feature that has remained a defining hallmark of the brand for more than a century.
Known for exceptional craftsmanship, Steiff continues to produce animals using traditional methods, including hand-finishing, genuine mohair, and meticulously detailed design. Their Classic and Replica series honor historic patterns from the company’s early decades, appealing to collectors who value heritage, quality, and artistry. Today, Steiff remains one of the most respected and collectible names in the world of plush animals and toy history.
