Gorky Gonzalez Signed Talavera Rooster Ceramic Serving Set
This signed ceramic serving set is an authentic collection from the celebrated Gorky González workshop of Guanajuato, Mexico, known for reviving traditional Majolica/Talavera techniques. Each piece displays the classic rooster and floral motifs hand-painted in vibrant greens, blues, terracotta, and gold—hallmarks of Gorky’s well-known “rooster” series. The set includes a creamer, lidded sugar bowl, salt and pepper shakers, a three-bowl condiment server with handle, a double bowl, and a rectangular tray. All items carry the workshop’s distinctive A-over-GTO signature and original form codes, confirming production origin.
A cohesive and collectible group that showcases the charming rustic elegance of González’s functional wares, ideal for both display and use. A wonderful opportunity to acquire a matched ensemble from one of Mexico’s most respected ceramic workshops.
CONDITION
Good condition overall with no damage noted. Light surface variations and minor glaze irregularities typical of hand-crafted Talavera production are present but do not affect display or use.
