American LaFrance Type D-1 1-Gal Fire Extinguisher, Brass & Aluminum
This American LaFrance Type D-1 U.S. Government–issue extinguisher is a mid-1950s military unit built to SPEC. MIL-E-7351 and marked U.S. PROPERTY. It features a polished aluminum body, ALFCO brass valve assembly, MB-marked fittings, U.S. Gauge 300-psi gauge, and its original hose. The red-lettered label remains readable, listing 24 lbs full weight, 450-lb test pressure, instructions for operation, MFR’s Part No. 13X-1374, and Stock No. 8200-255995. The base is stamped C01124.
A complete, contract-marked Cold War extinguisher with strong appeal for firefighting, aviation, and military collectors.
Condition:
In good condition with age-appropriate surface wear, including scratches and scattered spotting on the aluminum body, patina across brass components, and expected label wear from handling.
